Boston hardcore titans Green Beret return with an 11-song full length in 2016, their first effort since 2013's "Cult of State EP." Green Beret is probably my personal favorite from this group of people involved in bands coming out of Boston, their roster including members of Chain Rank, Preskool Dropouts, Exit Order, and many others. Both sonically and in terms of songwriting, I think this may be Green Beret's finest and most lethal yet. With no song breaching 2 minutes, this release is an unrelenting punisher from start to finish. Green Beret incorporates Totalitär style riffs, but manages to maintain the tough, militaristic execution one might expect from Boston hardcore. Immediately upon first listen, I think the sloganeering style vocals maybe the most memorable out of any Green Beret release. Very stoked. Next to Blood Pressure, I could see this topping lists for best LP of 2016. Dig this.
